Season 5 January 17, 2023 - June 2026

Season 5: Season 5 became the largest and most ambitious chapter of the Vintage Eight universe. Expanding on the mythology of the multiverse, the Eye, and the return of the Tangi Virus, the season pushed the interconnected storytelling further than ever before. Production during this period slowed due to work with Louisiana State University, as well as the productions of MYSTERIOUS BEHAVIORS and AFTER THE DEVIL IS DEAD.

The season begins with THE SWARM, a standalone story centered on the collapse and resettlement of North Tangipahoa Parish after the release of a genetically modified mosquito species. The outbreak reintroduces the Tangi Virus mythology while grounding the horror in a regional disaster scenario.

IT LIVES IN THE STATIC follows in a format similar to SINKHOLE, relying primarily on text-based storytelling. Some of the earliest experiments on the channel explored how minimalist horror could become, and this project continued that direction. Though labeled as analog horror, the series leans more toward text-based psychological horror.

The third entry, THE HUMAN TRIAL, brings back the artificial intelligence entity known as ORACLE. While the program initially appears malicious, it is eventually revealed that ORACLE has abandoned its desire to conquer humanity in favor of creating its own version of humanity.

ITCH marks the return of the rogue AI Prophet. Imprisoned and controlled by worshippers of the Eye, Prophet manipulates Northshore Research — the same organization responsible for the genetically modified mosquitoes in THE SWARM — into engineering a ravenous parasite that compels its victims to seek blood. The AI ultimately escapes its digital prison by deceiving an FBI agent investigating the now-defunct organization.

MARRIED TO A SLEEPWALKER is a reimagined version of the feature film THE THING INSIDE US. After the film struggled in traditional distribution, a deal was negotiated with High Octane Pictures to allow redistribution through the Vintage Eight channel, where it found a significantly larger audience. To distinguish the new version, black-and-white cinematography was added alongside new mythology tied to the Vintage Eight universe. This also expanded the timeline through a storyline known as End of Eight, a series exploring alternate realities within the Vintage Eight multiverse where events rarely end well.

THE INCOMPLETE PEOPLE is a standalone story focused on mysterious entities missing parts of their bodies. Visible only to their prey, the creatures eventually claim whatever body part they themselves lack. The concept later expanded into fan-fiction contributions featured through the channel’s YouTube Shorts.

Another standalone, CYPRESS BEAUTY, introduces Alexis Lee, a scientist using a variation of the Tangi Virus to mutate wealthy clients into trees in pursuit of a twisted form of beauty and immortality.

EIGHT STEPS TO THE EYE, another text-based horror, explores the origins of the Inverted Man while revealing how deeply the Eye has infiltrated world leadership.

THEY COME WITH THE STORM is a standalone story centered on a haunted hurricane, while DON'T LET THEM IN, the second chapter of End of Eight, presents a more traditional short film depicting an invasion by mysterious underground creatures. 

WE ARE THE COLD, the third entry in End of Eight, depicts a world consumed by an unstoppable winter storm that engulfs the Earth. My feature length movie, SACRILEGE, was also added to the Vintage Eight Universe.

Season 5 concludes with THE DISAPPEARANCE, which follows a team of researchers trapped on an alternate Earth — a reality where the Eye has already won and humanity has evolved into something entirely new through a modified version of the Tangi Virus.
